There are two main partnerships of interest for the voluntary and community sector (VCS) in Camden: Camden Climate Change Alliance (CCCA) and the Camden Sustainability Partnership.
Formed in 2008 by Camden Council, the CCCA was set-up to help committed organisations in Camden to reduce their carbon dioxide emissions and the costs associated with these. Guiding and supporting these organisations to reduce carbon emissions and engage with environmental protection and sustainability practices is the Alliance Advisory Board. VCS representatives represent the sector and community at the Alliance Advisory Board. See below for more detail.
In 2010 Camden council announced its 'Green Action for Change: Draft Environmental Sustainability Plan (2011-2012). It focuses on key environmental issues which, it is believed, the council and partner organisations can have the most impact in tackling. A cross-sector partnership, reporting to the Local Strategic Partnership was created to oversee the delivery, monitoring and review of this Plan and provide a forum for sharing knowledge and best practice. VCS representatives represent the sector and community at this partnership. See below for more detail.
